Admiral Windwagon Smith XLII Mike Greene will be checking in with us from time to time to keep us abreast of his adventures.
Take it away, Admiral!
Let me introduce you to my little friend.
I met this little guy on our first Civic Day with the Prairie Schooner Mates. What is Civic Day you ask? This is a day when the Admiral and Schoonies go out in the community not only to represent Riverfest, but also to spread some goodwill in the community.
We all walked into the first class room at TOPS Learning Center recently and here was this little guy who looked up and said he wanted to show me something in his book. So I sat down, and after searching through his book he found a story on astronomy. I asked him if he would like for me to read it to him. He looked up and said he would like that, please. When I finished reading the story, I asked him if he wanted to be an astronomer when he grew up, and he looked up with a big smile on his face and nodded.
It was time for us to go to the next classroom but before we left I asked him if I could take a picture with him. He looked up, looked into the camera and proceeded to lean into me. I was so blessed that day, and knew that this is what being Admiral is all about.
Button Up. Have a Blast!
